Who is the King of Kings?

You are Lord. You alone.

So why do you struggle at times to obey me? To trust me?

Right now it is when I lack clarity – it is not that I don’t trust you, but that I don’t trust me, my objectivity, my discernment.

That is fair. So how do we improve that? How do we make it better?

Good question. How do we make it better?

Single-mindedness. When you have many minds, many hearts, wanting multiple things, the noise of multiple agendas can make it difficult to clearly discern mine. So focus on only having a single agenda: Mine. When your sole agenda is to find, discern and follow my agenda, when this is your true heart, the noise of competing agendas grow quieter and the clarity of my agenda grows more complete. So pray this prayer each day: “King of the Universe, have mercy to give me One Mind, One Heart, One Agenda, One Purpose…Yours. Let me hear one voice…Yours. Please silence all other agendas and all other voices. And give me the courage to obey your One Voice. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
