Success & Significance
click here to read about how this series came to be. I speak in italics, and our Lord in bold print.
Significance come through obedience. The greater the obedience, the greater the significance. Significance results from obedience, and obedience leads to significance. It is really that simple. The more you obey me, the more significance your life has. The inverse is also true: less obedience, less significance. Not in the world’s eyes, but mine. Do you want true significance, or worldly?
Success and failure are based on the same metric. Obedience means success, and disobedience means failure. Jesus lived the most successful and impactful life in history because of perfect obedience. And his life is the standard. This is why you should not fear those things you don’t control. Your only burden is obedience, which is firmly within your control now that you have my Holy Spirit. And the good news of the gospel is this: perfect obedience was achieved on your behalf, so your ultimate success in life is assured by putting your faith in Jesus. But daily success is achieved through obedience. A successful life is one marked by obedience. “To obey is better than sacrifice.” This is the Lord.
