Obedience is Submission

All of God’s people experience Him differently.  I often experience the Holy Spirit in a conversation, and recently He led me to start posting some of our conversations.  I speak in italics, and our Lord in bold print. click here to read about how this series came to be.

Obedience is submission, and submission is obedience. Disobedience, sin, is not merely a fleshly struggle. It is an act of defiance against me. When someone is struggling deeply with sin of some kind, the focus should not be on the sinful act itself (i.e., pornography). The focus should be on why a person is struggling to fully submit to me as their one true King. This is the real issue. You can battle at the margins to address particular manifestations of your unwillingness to submit, or you can go straight to the heart of it: Why are you unwilling to fully and finally submit, for all time and regardless of cost, to the King of Kings as Lord over all of your life? What is preventing that? Come to a place of full surrender, and the various manifestations of your lack of full surrender will soon be brought to heel. Short of that, you will be stuck in the vicious cycle of failure that is the result of mere human effort. This is the Lord.
