What Should We Fear?

All of God’s people experience Him differently.  I often experience the Holy Spirit in a conversation, and recently He led me to start posting some of our conversations.  I speak in italics, and our Lord in bold print. click here to read about how this series came to be.

I am the Lord of Lords.  Do you know what that means?

I could guess, but I would rather hear it from you.

It means that I am King.  I am all powerful.  And that all things answer to me.  ALL.  This is why your fears of anyone or anything other than Me are unfounded.  What can they do to you, these objects of fear?  Kill your body, the bodies of those you love?  These are tragedies, the consequence of sin, but they are merely extinguishing a breath and a mist, an almost invisible vapor.  This is how thin and brief your life on earth is.  Now what happens once that vapor is extinguished, this is where true fear should lie.  For one way or another, the mist that is your current existence will soon evaporate – there is no one of any persuasion that will argue with this.  But what happens next?  Of this you should truly be afraid, because your choices in your few moments as a mist determine the eternal destiny of your unending, immortal self.  Will you spend it as you were designed (which I have redeemed at great cost), or will you choose to suffer for all time with your chosen god, the Enemy of God, because you desperately wanted to protect your few, thin, unsatisfying years as a vapor and a mist?  I am the Lord of Lords, and I will not be mocked or ignored.  Fear not, and fall to your knees before me.  This is the Lord.
