What is Joy?
All of God’s people experience Him differently. I often experience the Holy Spirit in a conversation, and recently He led me to start posting some of our conversations. I speak in italics, and our Lord in bold print. click here to read about how this series came to be.
What is Joy?
“Joy” is complete recognition and awareness of the Truth…the Truth of what is to come, of our true state in Christ, and that Heaven for the believer has already begun. Joy is transcendent because it lifts us above our daily circumstance to see ultimate reality. It gives us a 30,000 foot view of life and reminds us of Eternity. This is why joy allows us to smile, even laugh, in the face of pain, death, divorce, betrayal, abuse, sorrow. Joy reminds us that those are all temporary and will soon end. But love, peace, patience, kindness, joy…laughter, smiles, hugs, friends, fun…these are eternal and will never, ever, end. This is the transcendence of joy – eyes to see so very clearly the many good things that last forever and the painful bad ones whose time is near their end.
